Hi,

Please note that the ELC Town Map Server may be out of service until sometime in the afternoon on Tuesday September 1st.

There was a windstorm that hit the west coast in Vancouver, BC Canada over the weekend on Saturday and knocked out power to nearly 500,000 combined residents and businesses.

As soon as services have been restored, I will post an update.

Hi,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have implemented an "Auto-Restart" feature for the ELC Town Map Server.

Over the last several months, the server (java) has been crashing after certain users ran commands or simply exited the server.

Nobody is to blame for this.

Its just java, it's buggy, and its annoying...and it is what it is.

The auto-restart feature will check for the ELC town map server java instance every minute. Should it discover that the server has crashed and is not responding on the designated port it will restart the server immediately without the need of me doing so.

Should you lose connectivity to the server for no reason and attempts to reconnect fail; please wait 2-5 minutes for the server to restart itself.

This should alleviate some of the outages over long periods as I typically do not get to it quickly enough. Especially when the outage happens when I am sleeping :P.

You'll have to use the Minecraft version 1.7.2 or 1.7.4 to access the server. The "I'm on 1.7.2" means that the server's on 1.7.2. It is misleading, with the "I'm" part, makes it seem like it's saying you're using 1.7.2. :)

i cant join the server it says connection refused and it says this every time

Try using 1.7.4, it's what I use and i'm not having version issues. :)
