But wondering…
Any way of simply getting a 'site plan' view of my seed world including unexplored areas, with multiple zoom levels, including my own location at the time of the save, just so I can see where I am in my world (after long days at sea, for example) - similar to MineAtlas (which doesn't seem to work anymore for me in 1.8.9)? I know this just means using your site as a 'viewer'… but promise to use more of the site's functions in the future.
Thoughts.
Your best bet is to use software such as MCEdit to prerender the world for usage such as this. From there, you will have the choice to either explore the world via the MCEdit application, or you can upload the map here to be rendered. Alternatively, you can wait until the author of MineAtlas has updated to 1.9/1.10, which, according to his/her twitter, is being developed.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to view the location of your character here, as our site does not use the playerdata directory within your world. Instead, take note of your coordinates displayed in Minecraft's debug (f3) menu in-game. Then, use the coordinates display on the bottom left-hand corner of the render to find your last location.
