Hi all,

I just uploaded my first Minecraft world and was looking for some advice for future maps. The biggest thing is file sizes, and how to keep them down.

From what I understand, the more areas you explore, the more sections are saved, and that creates a large game file. Is that right? But when I look at other people's maps which appear to cover large areas, the file size is only around 1 MB.

Skeleton Gate is a disgusting 93 MB! And I would not have uploaded it, but I think it's good. Would I download it if bandwidth was a concern? Nope. But because it's story driven, it provides a refreshing 3+hours of role playing gameplay for the fan of vanilla Minecraft.

Sorry, I am rambling on.... File size. How are you keeping this down?

Cheers to the creators of Minecraft. It's a bloody awesome game! You should be very proud.
